Africa is feeding its own future. You can own a piece of it.

Africa Eats invests in the businesses moving food from African farms to African tables. Two dozen of them, across eight countries, held inside one company listed on a stock exchange where anyone can buy in.

The Problem

Case : Follow the mango

Picture a mango farm in eastern Kenya at harvest. The trees did their job. The problem starts after the picking.

Between 30 and 50 percent of the food grown in Africa never reaches a consumer. It rots in sacks waiting for a buyer, bruises on bad roads, spoils in markets without cold storage. The farmer loses income. The city pays more for less.

That gap is not a tragedy to donate against. It is a supply chain waiting to be built, and building supply chains is a business.

The bizi, the companies Africa Eats invests in, are building it. They aggregate produce from smallholder farmers, move it, process it, and sell it to retailers. Every ton saved is revenue.

Our Track Record

In 2014, our early portfolio comprised localized aggregators, millers, and cold-chain operators generating a combined $600K in annual revenue.

Today, that network has expanded into 24 operating entities driving $60M in combined revenue—achieving 100x growth driven entirely by market demand, with zero capital spent on marketing or investor roadshows, and backed by 221 organic shareholders.

Our Structure

1. Structural Differentiation: The Permanent Capital Model

Unlike traditional African private equity funds bound by strict 10-year lifecycles, Africa Eats operates as an open-ended holding company. By taking minority equity positions and holding portfolio companies (“bizis”) indefinitely, we eliminate fixed fund timelines, mitigating market timing risk and preventing forced liquidations of high-performing assets.

2. Core Strategy: Long-Term Enterprise Compounding

Applying Berkshire Hathaway’s holding company principles to fast-growing, founder-led African enterprises, Africa Eats focuses purely on long-term value creation. Our model is defined by three strict operational mandates: zero closed-end funds raised, zero fixed exit deadlines, and zero premature asset sales.

3. Scalable Liquidity: Public Market Graduation

When a portfolio company reaches institutional scale and outgrows private ownership, liquidity and primary expansion capital are unlocked through independent initial public offerings (IPOs) on stock exchanges, positioning mature assets for long-term public market growth.
