The original business model at Paniel Meat Processing was for 100% of the animals to be raised by Rwandan smallholder farmers. The “high class” problem in the last year is that demand increased so quickly that the only reasonable path was to build out some in-house animal production, starting with chickens.
A hatchery for day-old chicks, six chicken houses, and an abattoir. Enough production to supply the tons of chicken per day needed in Rwanda and the Kivu region of neighboring Congo (DRC).
Expect a video of the tidy, clean, working facility in a few months. For now the building site is a bit chaotic, as they typically are while in the midst of construction.
BTW, if you’d like to own this company, it is publicly listed on the Stock Exchange of Mauritius under the name Elite Meat Processing (ELIT) and tradable using the tuesday.africa app.
